Rough clean keeps the build moving

During and after framing, debris removal, sweeping, and trash-out keep paths safe and give trades room to work. This is not the finish pass. It is the reset that makes the next trade possible.

Interim clean protects the finish

After drywall, paint, and trim, the building holds a different kind of mess. Drywall dust needs to be removed from surfaces before flooring and fixture installation. This interim or light clean helps the next work happen on a cleaner base.

Final clean is for the walkthrough

The final pass is the detail work before an owner walkthrough or certificate of occupancy. It may include interior and exterior glass, adhesive and label removal, fixture polish, floor buffing, vents, tracks, and touch-up after the last punch-list items.

How to place the phases

The GC schedule should name the rough window, the interim window, and the final target. Share when floor protection comes off, when fixtures are complete, and when the punch list is expected to close. Those dates shape the clean more than a generic weekly frequency.

A short handoff checklist

Name the access lead. Confirm utilities and temporary lighting. Mark areas that are not ready. Note floor protection and glass status. Then set a final inspection or touch-up window.
